Summary
- Louisiana influencer Dejontay Wings arrested for alleged theft.
- Theft occurred at a former employer's oil change business.
- Wings denies allegations, plans to fight charges in court.
Dejontay Wings, a 27-year-old influencer with over 600,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, faces accusations of theft from his former employer. He was arrested on Saturday, June 6, on charges including simple criminal damage to property and felony simple burglary.
The incident allegedly occurred in December when patrol officers responded to a Take 5 Oil Change in Baton Rouge. Evidence suggested forced entry through a broken window, and approximately $200 was reported stolen from the safe. While a security camera did not capture a clear image of the suspect's face, the manager identified Wings based on his gait, noting it matched previous footage of him working there.
Wings had reportedly been fired from the oil change business two weeks prior to the alleged burglary. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Saturday and released on Tuesday, June 9. A spokesperson for Wings has called the allegations false, stating there is no evidence to support them, and indicated a plan to contest the charges in court.
