Influencer's Probation Shattered: New Arrest After Theft Plea

Marlena Velez, a 23-year-old social media influencer, was recently taken back into custody for allegedly violating her probation. This comes after she had previously pleaded no contest to two counts of petty theft in March 2025. Velez was sentenced to 12 months of probation, to be served concurrently for both cases, and was required to complete 25 hours of community service.

Court documents filed in June 2026 indicate that Velez failed to report to her probation officer on multiple occasions. She also allegedly did not remain confined at home and neglected to log her hourly activities as instructed by her probation officer. These alleged violations led to her arrest in September 2025, where she also faced charges for fleeing and eluding authorities.

Her initial theft arrests occurred in late 2024. Velez was accused of stealing from the same Target store twice within 10 days. The items stolen included household goods and clothing, with a total value estimated at over $725 across both incidents. Authorities identified her through security footage and a distinctive cellphone wallpaper matching her social media presence.

As of June 13, 2026, Velez remained in custody without bond. Her TikTok account, which boasted over 410,000 followers, was made private following her initial arrests.
