Social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, 28, passed away on August 26th, nearly two months after a brutal alleged attack. On July 3rd, Kaur was reportedly lured to meet two acquaintances, Shubhi and Pinda, near a Chandigarh liquor shop. She was then allegedly forced into a car and driven to Morinda in Punjab's Rupnagar district.
In Morinda, the accused are alleged to have assaulted Kaur, tied her to a mulberry tree, and set her on fire. A friend discovered her and extinguished the flames. Kaur was hospitalized, first in Morinda, then Mohali, and finally transferred to PGIMER Chandigarh on July 9th due to her severe burns.
She remained unconscious for weeks. Kaur briefly regained consciousness on August 5th and reportedly recounted the incident to her family. Her condition deteriorated, leading to her death on August 26th. The motive remains unclear, and police are actively searching for the two suspects, Shubhi and Pinda.
