A man named Jay Messer was arrested on Christmas Day 2025 following a severe road rage incident in Indianapolis, Indiana. Messer, who was driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription pills, allegedly threatened a couple with a firearm after a minor traffic dispute at a stop sign. His blood alcohol content was later determined to be 0.250, significantly exceeding the legal limit.
The confrontation began when Messer became aggressive towards the couple after they drove around his stopped vehicle. He pursued them, swerving erratically, and reportedly pointed a gun at their car while making death threats. The victims managed to photograph his license plate before Messer continued driving recklessly, leading to another 911 call about his erratic behavior.
Police apprehended Messer in McCordsville, Indiana, where he exhibited signs of impairment, including difficulty standing and urinating himself. A search of his Jeep revealed several firearms, ammunition, illicit drugs such as Alprazolam and Clonazepam, and a bag containing cremated human remains. Messer, a convicted felon, faces multiple serious charges and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
