A 27-year-old Indian woman, Nikitha Rao Godishala, was found deceased from stab wounds in Maryland. The incident occurred at the residence of her ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Arjun Sharma. Sharma had reported Godishala missing on January 2, claiming he last saw her on New Year's Eve at his Maryland City apartment, before reportedly fleeing to India.
Detectives discovered Godishala's body on January 3 at Sharma's home. Evidence suggests Sharma allegedly killed her on the evening of December 31. Authorities have formally charged him with first and second-degree murder and are actively seeking his apprehension. Godishala was employed as a Data and Strategy Analyst at Vheda Health, where she had recently received an "All-In Award."
Before her role at Vheda Health, Godishala worked in data analysis at Management Sciences for Health and pursued her master's in health information technology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her career in the US followed earlier roles as a Clinical Pharmacist intern and Clinical Data Specialist in India. She was passionate about using data to improve healthcare systems.
