An Indian national, Anshul Kuncha, was tragically killed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during what appears to have been a targeted attack disguised as a pizza delivery. Kuncha, who was pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute Of Technology in Hyderabad, was working part-time as a pizza delivery executive to supplement his income.
Surveillance footage shows Kuncha walking with a pizza when he was followed by two individuals in dark clothing. His sister, Tanvi, revealed that he was instructed to deliver to an abandoned area, which she believes was a deliberate decoy and a trap set solely to murder him.
The Indian Consulate General in New York expressed profound sadness and extended condolences to Kuncha's family. The consulate confirmed they are in contact with the family and providing all necessary assistance, including expediting the repatriation of Kuncha's body to India.
Police are actively investigating the murder, seeking additional footage to identify the suspects responsible for the fatal shooting. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.
