- Two Sikh men were shot dead outside a gurdwara in Bergamo.

Two Indian Sikh men were fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Covo, Bergamo, Italy, on the evening of April 17th. The murders appear to be the result of a feud concerning succession plans for the management of the gurdwara. Rajinder Singh, a former president of the gurdwara, and his friend Gurmit Singh were gunned down shortly before midnight.
Three Indian nationals are currently under investigation in connection with the homicides. Two individuals, Sukhjinder Singh and Yovanpreet Singh Dhillon, surrendered to authorities and are being investigated for complicity in the killings. The main suspect, also an Indian national, remains at large. The victims, both fathers of three, were reportedly discussing Vaisakhi festival plans when the attack occurred.
Rajinder Singh, a former gurdwara president, had recently stepped down and was reportedly in a dispute with a rival faction over temple leadership. His son mentioned that his father had previously received death threats. Autopsies for the victims are scheduled for Thursday.
