UK Police Raid: Illicit Weight-Loss Drugs Seized
25 Feb
Summary
- Nearly 2,000 doses of illegal weight-loss drugs were seized.
- Raid targeted a farm building and a residential property.
- Drugs were marketed online and posed serious health risks.

Police in Lincolnshire have confiscated almost 2,000 doses of illegal and dangerous weight-loss drugs. Officers raided an agricultural building in Newton and a residential property in Grantham on Tuesday. The operation was initiated due to reports of people falling ill after consuming the unregulated and ineffective drugs. These substances were believed to have been marketed online. Health officials emphasized that criminals will not be allowed to profit from exploiting individuals seeking weight-loss assistance. The seized medicines were produced without regard for safety, posing significant health risks. Supporting agencies, including the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Immigration Enforcement, assisted in the operation. Manufacturing equipment, suspected pharmaceutical ingredients, packaging, and commercial vehicles were also seized. Both locations were understood to be involved in the production and distribution of unlicensed weight-loss medicines, including retatrutide, tirzepatide, and peptide products. No arrests have been made as of the operation date. This follows a similar dismantling of an illicit production facility in Northampton in October 2025.
