Human remains found in Idaho more than two months ago have been identified as Allan Sloan, who was reported missing in December 2021. Deputies were alerted to possible remains in the Swamp Creek area near Waha on March 28th, following a discovery by shed hunters. The recovered bones were sent to the Spokane Medical Examiner's Office for analysis.
Using historical medical imaging, officials confirmed the remains belonged to Sloan, who had not been seen since December 2021. He was reported missing after failing to make contact with his family. His pickup truck was subsequently discovered abandoned and stuck on Wapshilla Ridge.
In the spring of 2022, Idaho Fish and Game reviewed footage showing Sloan the day after he went missing, over 10 miles from where his truck was found. Despite this information, active search efforts were eventually called off due to a lack of further leads. The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office extended condolences to the Sloan family.
