A 24-year-old woman in Hyderabad died by suicide on Friday, nearly a month after being forcibly injected with HIV-positive blood by a relative. The incident occurred on March 11 when the accused, Manohar, injected her with his blood after she cancelled their planned marriage.
The marriage was initially arranged by their parents. However, after learning that Manohar and his parents were HIV-positive, the woman canceled the wedding in September of the previous year. In retaliation, Manohar injected her with his HIV-infected blood.
Following the attack, the woman was reportedly under severe mental stress, grappling with fear and social stigma. Police suspect this psychological trauma contributed to her decision to end her life. The accused was arrested shortly after the injection incident.
