A horrifying incident unfolded in Hyderabad's Puppalaguda on New Year's Day, when a 21-year-old sales representative was attacked inside her apartment. The victim, who had returned home around 2 am after New Year's celebrations, was alone in the flat when a 23-year-old waiter from a café in the building entered her room.
The accused allegedly professed his love, then resorted to violence when rebuffed, slashing her finger with a knife, forcibly kissing her, and groping her. He also threatened her life if she resisted, according to her complaint.

He was subsequently produced in court and sent to judicial remand, facing charges including lurking house-trespass and attempt to murder.
