Summary
- Stale biryani was allegedly reheated and sold as fresh in Hyderabad.
- Food was prepared in Jeedimetla, refrigerated, then reheated for delivery.
- Hundreds of stale biryani packets, some three days old, were seized.

A disturbing case of alleged food fraud has been uncovered in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills. Authorities discovered that stale biryani was being sold to unsuspecting customers as if it were freshly prepared.
The operation, run from an apartment cellar under the name "Lucky Biryani and Shawarma," involved food prepared in Jeedimetla. This food was then refrigerated for several days, reheated in ovens, and subsequently distributed through online food delivery platforms.
During an inspection, hundreds of biryani packets were found. Some of these packets were reportedly up to three days old and were being reheated and repackaged to deceive customers. The establishment lacked a proper restaurant setup, relying on online platforms to maintain a facade of legitimacy.
Food safety violations are under investigation, and further actions are anticipated against those involved. The premises where the alleged fraud took place has reportedly been sealed.
