In Hyderabad, police have registered a case against Saketh Kumar, the owner of Oxygen Fitness Club, for allegedly misbehaving with a woman sub-inspector. The incident took place in Almasguda during the early hours of Wednesday while the officer was deployed for Ganesh immersion security arrangements.
The sub-inspector had approached a group causing a disturbance late at night. According to her complaint, Kumar then allegedly harassed her and obstructed her from performing her official duties. He has been booked under Sections 74, 75(2), and 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
These sections pertain to assault with intent to outrage modesty, sexual harassment, and deterring a public servant from discharging duties. Police are actively searching for Kumar, who is currently on the run. The incident occurred despite extensive security arrangements for the Ganesh immersion processions across the city, which saw the deployment of approximately 30,000 police personnel.
