Knife Attack on Family in Hyderabad Home

A shocking knife attack on a family in Hyderabad early Friday morning has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man, identified as K Govardhan. He allegedly targeted his former girlfriend and four of her relatives at their residence.

The accused reportedly scaled a neighboring structure to access the second-floor flat around 4 am. He then attacked the 20-year-old woman, her parents, elder sister, and uncle as they attempted to defend themselves. Most family members sustained injuries to their hands, while the mother also suffered facial injuries.

Alerted by the commotion, neighbors bravely intervened, overpowering Govardhan and contacting the authorities. Police quickly took him into custody, and the injured family members were transported to a hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations reveal Govardhan may have purchased the knife online days before the incident. A case has been registered, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody as police continue to investigate prior allegations of stalking and threats.
