Summary

- Accused allegedly acted on TDP MP's friend's instructions.
- Eleven people arrested in drug party raid at former MLA's farmhouse.

A recent drug raid at a Hyderabad farmhouse has led to the arrest of eleven individuals and revealed a dramatic firing incident. Namit Sharma, a Delhi-based businessman, allegedly discharged a .32 calibre revolver at the raiding police team. Investigators suspect Sharma acted under the influence and at the alleged instigation of former Tandur MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy and his brother, Ritesh Reddy.
The incident occurred on the night of March 14 when the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement, alongside Future City police, acted on a tip-off about a drug party. The raid took place at Rohith Reddy's farmhouse, resulting in the apprehension of eleven people. Subsequent tests revealed that six individuals had consumed drugs, with four testing positive for cocaine and one each for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Rohith and Ritesh Reddy allegedly instructed Sharma to fire, assuring him they would handle the repercussions. Sharma, who resides in Delhi and is involved in construction, had reportedly arrived with TDP MP P Mahesh Kumar. Cocaine found at the scene was allegedly brought by another guest, Koushik Ravi. Sharma tested positive for MDMA and cocaine use.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is continuing its probe into Sharma's connection with the ex-MLA and the exact circumstances surrounding the firing. Police have requested custody of Rohith, Ritesh, and Sharma, who are currently in judicial remand, for further investigation into drug procurement and potential disposal of contraband.
