On September 25th, 2025, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW), in coordination with the Charminar police, arrested a drug peddler in a joint operation. The accused, identified as Ali Bin Hamid (46), a resident of Bandlaguda Jagir, was caught with a significant haul of narcotics.
Hamid was found in possession of 45 grams of OG (Hydroponic Ganja), 2 kilograms of ganja, a mobile phone, a scooter, and ₹1.03 lakh in cash. The total seizure is valued at around ₹4 lakh. Police revealed that Hamid had turned to drug peddling due to financial troubles. He allegedly sourced the narcotics through "dead drops" from his handler, referred to as "Captain," and then supplied the drugs across the city.
Hamid is said to have collected payments in both cash and online, which were then routed through Captain's associates. A case has been registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The HNEW has urged citizens to stay away from drugs and asked parents to keep a close watch on their children. The public has been encouraged to share any information related to drug abuse with the HNEW at 8712661601.
