Kingston's Estate: £660K Left to Widow After No Will
19 Mar
Summary
- No will was found, leaving Lady Gabriella his entire estate.
- His estate was valued at £939,429, reduced to £660,000.
- Lady Gabriella suspects medication caused his fatal impulse.

Thomas Kingston, husband to Lady Gabriella, died on February 25, 2024, from a head injury. A gun was discovered near his body at his parents' home in the Cotswolds.
A new report indicates that Mr. Kingston died intestate, meaning he left no will. Consequently, his entire estate, valued at £939,429 before deductions, was passed to his widow, Lady Gabriella. After accounting for costs, debts, and taxes, the net value of the estate was £664,429.
Mr. Kingston had reportedly invested £1.6 million of his own funds into his firm, Devonport Capital, in an attempt to rescue it. The company, however, had accumulated substantial debts amounting to £27.9 million against assets worth £19.8 million and is now in liquidation.
In a statement read at his inquest in December 2024, Lady Gabriella expressed doubt that work-related stress led him to take his own life, suggesting his decision was a sudden impulse. She posited that an adverse reaction to antidepressants and sleeping pills he had been prescribed might have provoked his death, urging greater awareness of such side effects.
