In Sector 88, a 26-year-old man, Arun Sharma, is accused of fatally injecting his wife, Kajal Sharma, with a drug. The crime allegedly occurred on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, following an argument over money for Sharma's drug addiction. Kajal, 23, was a nurse at a private hospital where Arun previously worked as an X-ray technician. He lost his job due to addiction shortly after their marriage on November 14, 2025.
Following Kajal's refusal to give him money, Sharma reportedly injected her with a neuromuscular blocking agent, a drug used in anesthesia. Kajal collapsed with a nosebleed, and an injection mark was visible on her arm. Although rushed to a hospital, she was declared dead. Police recovered a syringe and a broken ampule of the drug from the bathroom drain.
Authorities have registered a case of dowry death against Arun Sharma under Section 80 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as the couple's marriage had not completed seven years. Sharma, originally from Loni, Ghaziabad, fled the scene and is currently evading arrest. Forensic examination is underway to confirm the specific drug administered.
