A startling find by two young brothers near a South Carolina creek has prompted a death investigation after they unearthed a human skull. Responding deputies, along with forensic investigators and the coroner's office, initiated an extensive search of the area.
During the search, investigators discovered approximately 45 to 50 additional bones, believed to be from a single individual. These remains appear significantly weathered and are preliminarily estimated to be at least ten years old, based on root growth around the bones. Officials suggest the individual was likely between 15 and 25 years old.
Authorities have noted no visible fractures on the skull, and it remains too early to determine if foul play was involved. The investigation is actively continuing, with law enforcement collaborating with an anthropologist and cadaver dogs to further analyze the remains.
