A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in west Houston on Thursday afternoon. Officers were dispatched to South Gessner Road around 3:30 p.m. and discovered the victim had died at the scene.
According to witness accounts provided to the Houston Police Department, the deceased woman was part of a three-person moving crew assisting someone with an apartment move. An altercation reportedly occurred between a man and a woman from the moving crew, leading to the woman falling out of a box truck.
Houston police suspect the collision was not accidental and that the man intentionally drove over the woman. The third member of the moving crew remained at the scene. A suspect has since been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
