Josy Pereira Do Nascimento, a Brazilian housekeeper in West London, narrowly survived a horrific attack in February 2024. She was working for a wealthy art dealer when her employer's son, Maximilian Bourne, stabbed her 42 times in her living quarters. Bourne, who was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, was declared unfit to stand trial in February 2025. He was subsequently sentenced to indefinite hospitalization.
Initially seeking a better life for her daughter, Josy took a housekeeping job in affluent Chelsea. She endured a challenging period away from her daughter before moving into basement quarters. The attack occurred when she was left alone to care for Bourne. He attacked her with a kitchen knife, inflicting numerous stab wounds across her body.
Josy managed to escape to a locked bathroom and call the police. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors described her survival as a miracle. Bourne had called the police himself, describing Josy as a 'demon woman.' Josy is currently raising funds to pursue a civil case for compensation, hoping to return to her daughter in Brazil as soon as possible.
