In Chandauli, a 24-year-old hospital manager has been arrested for allegedly performing surgery on a patient who later died. The incident occurred on August 19 when the manager, Indrajeet Prajapati, operated on Suman, a 27-year-old patient admitted for uterus complications.
According to the complaint filed by Suman's father, Prajapati cut the wrong vein and damaged her kidney during the procedure. Suman succumbed to her injuries later that night. Following a postmortem and an inquiry ordered by the chief medical officer, an FIR was registered against Prajapati under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Prajapati was apprehended at Indra Hospital. He reportedly confessed that the doctor assigned to the case did not arrive, prompting him to conduct the surgery himself, which resulted in the patient's death. Further investigations are underway.
