A Houston MRI technician has resigned from St. Joseph Medical Center following a frightening assault by a stranger in a hospital stairwell. The attack occurred on July 18 near the end of her shift as she used the stairwell for exercise. She reported being grabbed by an unknown man.
Following the incident, the technician discovered that security cameras in or around the stairwell were reportedly non-operational. This revelation intensified her fear and led to her decision not to return to the hospital, despite being offered a night shift.
The Houston Police Department has confirmed an assault report was filed and that the investigation is ongoing. The technician sustained visible bruising and a cut on her arm from the attack. The hospital and its parent company have not yet responded to requests for comment.
