3 Apr
Summary
- Rescue claims couple surrendered horses; couple denies it.
- Horses surfaced at auction; one had previous bill of sale.
- Rescue owner hired attorney amid dispute over horse ownership.

A contentious dispute is unfolding between Vicki's Rescue Ranch and the Garrett family concerning eleven miniature horses. The rescue's owner, Vicki Bozeman, asserts the Garretts voluntarily surrendered the horses following a house fire. However, the Garretts maintain they never relinquished ownership, stating no paperwork was signed for what they believed was a temporary arrangement.
Complicating matters, some of the horses were later discovered listed for auction, with at least one horse, Rosie, having an existing bill of sale to a third party. This discovery by the Garretts and their associates led to the recovery of six of the missing horses.
Bozeman, who has been in animal rescue for 25 years, claims she suffered injuries during the initial rescue and insists multiple witnesses can attest to the couple's surrender of the animals. The Garretts' attorney stated they are focused on recovering the remaining three horses to resolve the matter.
