A 56-year-old woman, identified as Heather Asendorf, was found dead on Hollywood Beach on December 26, 2025, by a beachgoer. The discovery occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on the popular tourist destination in South Florida.
Authorities have since arrested Brandon Ward McCray, 28, in connection with Asendorf's death. McCray was taken into custody on December 31, 2025, and is facing charges that include sexual battery, kidnapping, and battery by strangulation. He is currently being held without bond.
