The incident occurred in the Thakurganj area when neighbours allegedly attacked Gautam with sticks after an argument involving his wife. This marks the third murder in the city attributed to Holi-related conflicts, following similar incidents in Mohanlalganj and Dubbaga. The accused have been charged with culpable homicide and assault. Gautam, a daily-wager, was severely injured after rushing to his wife's defence and succumbed to his injuries late Friday night. Neighbours had attempted to provide immediate medical aid, but his condition was critical. Police are investigating the matter further.
