6 Mar
Summary
- Man suffered severe skin burns during Holi celebrations.
- Police investigation suggests chemical Holi colors caused burns.
- Victim alleged an acid attack by three local residents.

On Wednesday, an incident occurred in the Badi Bazar area of Walidpur, Mau district, where a 25-year-old man named Manish Kanskar sustained significant skin burns.
Kanskar, a resident of Mohalla Kazi Tola, alleged he was attacked with acid during a Holi procession. He was participating with friends and other locals when colored substances reportedly fell on him, causing him to scream in pain.
He was initially taken to a community health center and later referred for further treatment. Police initiated an investigation and Kanskar filed a complaint naming three individuals from Badi Bazaar.
However, Mohammadabad Gohana police station in-charge, KK Verma, stated on Thursday that preliminary findings indicated the injuries were likely due to chemical-laced Holi colors, not a deliberate acid attack. The situation is being further investigated.
