A violent car crash in North Miami Beach, captured on video, resulted in serious injuries for Zulemo Marrero and the subsequent arrest of Omarian Anderson, 22. The incident occurred when a white BMW, allegedly driven by Anderson, sped erratically before colliding with Marrero's vehicle.
Marrero was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center with broken ribs and severe bruising. Her daughter reported that Marrero is conscious but in significant pain and has memory loss from the event. She is undergoing tests at the hospital and was reported to be improving.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office arrested Anderson on charges including fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and leaving the scene of an accident. Officers confiscated weapons, including an AK-style pistol and a handgun, from his car. A judge set his bond at $20,500 with GPS monitoring upon release.
The crash began when a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle suspected in a burglary, leading to a pursuit. The fleeing driver then struck Marrero's car, causing it to flip and spin onto a median. Marrero had reportedly just picked up groceries from Walmart.
