History-Sheeter Nabbed in Pongal Resort Raid

Chennai police successfully apprehended a prominent history-sheeter, identified as Kanagu alias Kanagaraj, aged 36, from Choolaimedu. The arrest occurred on Friday at a private resort in Courtallam, near Tenkasi, where he was reportedly celebrating the Pongal festival with his family. Kanagaraj has a significant criminal record, with involvement in more than 15 cases, including serious charges like murder and illegal firearm possession.
A specialized team from Chennai police, acting on specific intelligence, located and arrested Kanagaraj along with three associates: Karthik, Chapin, and Prakash. The operation, which took place at the resort, involved securing the suspects at gunpoint. The group was then transported back to Chennai by road.
Following their arrest, the individuals were presented before a magistrate court on Saturday and subsequently remanded into judicial custody. Meanwhile, Kanagaraj's wife submitted a petition to the commissioner's office, expressing concerns for her husband's safety and alleging his life is in danger.
