A 31-year-old man from Villa Rica, Georgia, Kenyon Joiner, is now facing multiple charges after leading Cullman police in Alabama on a dangerous high-speed chase. The pursuit began on August 29, 2026, when an officer attempted to stop Joiner's Nissan Maxima. The driver refused to stop, reaching speeds over 130 mph on Alabama Highway 157. During the chase, Joiner drove the wrong way on the highway, turned off his headlights, and discarded items from his vehicle. Authorities successfully used spike strips to disable the car's tires, bringing the chase to an end. Upon apprehension, it was discovered that Joiner had active warrants in Georgia for evading and resisting arrest. Officers recovered the items thrown from the car and identified them as a controlled substance. Joiner was booked into the Cullman County Detention Center on charges including attempting to elude, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence. Additional traffic citations were also issued, and no injuries were reported.
