Summary
- Heiress Margaux Mirkin was assaulted and strangled during a home invasion.
- Suspects stole cash and jewelry, including items from her late husband.
- Robbers dropped stolen jewelry while fleeing from the scene.

A violent home invasion occurred at the Hollywood Hills residence of 70-year-old Margaux Mirkin, heiress to the Budget Rent a Car fortune. She was reportedly assaulted and strangled by intruders who gained access to her home. The suspects allegedly smashed her jaw and left her in a distressed state before fleeing with stolen cash and jewelry.
Among the stolen items were valuable pieces of jewelry, some of which belonged to Mirkin's late husband, who passed away two years prior. A neighbor's observation and a dropped bag of jewelry led to the suspects abandoning a significant portion of their loot as they fled the scene. The Robbery-Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
