A shocking double murder occurred in Jhabredi Kalan village, Haridwar district, on Saturday when a 22-year-old man allegedly killed his neighbor and sister. The accused, identified as Aman Kashyap, a laborer, is believed to have acted on suspicion that his sister, Roopa (23), and neighbor, Suraj (21), were in a relationship.
Kashyap had reportedly warned Suraj to stay away from his sister. Although a prior dispute over this issue was settled by family members, Kashyap allegedly confronted Suraj around 8:45 am on Saturday. He is accused of shooting Suraj at his residence, where the victim died instantly. Kashyap then reportedly returned to his home and fatally shot his sister before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that both bodies were sent for postmortem examination. A murder case has been registered, and multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend Kashyap. Police also revealed that Kashyap has a criminal background, having previously served a month in jail for a firing incident.
