A distressing case of alleged domestic violence and gender bias has emerged in Gurugram. A woman has accused her husband and in-laws of subjecting her to abuse, including physical assault, for failing to produce a male heir. The complainant stated that her in-laws' behavior turned hostile after the birth of their two daughters, taunting her and causing both mental and physical distress.
Following her expulsion from the in-laws' residence, the woman began living with her husband in a rented accommodation. However, she alleges that her husband also became abusive, frequently assaulting her, particularly when intoxicated. Seeking protection, she approached the Gurugram police late Tuesday night with her young daughters.
The police have initiated an investigation into the serious charges, which include domestic violence, assault, and criminal intimidation. The husband and in-laws are slated to be questioned as part of the inquiry. Further legal actions will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
