On October 1, 2025, a 29-year-old foreign languages teacher in Gurgaon, India, was allegedly sexually assaulted by four gym trainers. According to the police, the teacher, who lives in the city with her husband, had met one of the suspects, Gaurav, at a party in September. The two had been in touch since then, exchanging numbers and meeting several times.
On the night of the incident, Gaurav called the teacher and asked her to meet him. The teacher agreed, as she was already out, and Gaurav gave her his friend Neeraj's address. When the teacher reached the location, Gaurav allegedly sexually assaulted her. He then called his friends Neeraj, Yogesh, and Abhishek, who also allegedly raped the teacher.
The teacher filed a police complaint the next morning, and the women's police station in Gurgaon made the arrests. The four suspects, identified as Gaurav (37) from Himachal Pradesh, Yogesh (29) and Abhishek (28) from Mahendergarh, and Neeraj (32) from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, were produced before a local court and sent to judicial custody.
The police have registered an FIR against the accused under sections 376(1) (rape), 376D (gang rape), and 34 (crime done by multiple persons) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
