- Illegal construction in stilt parking areas was targeted.
- The drive followed court directives against unauthorized activities.

Enforcement teams from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) sealed several residential properties in Gurgaon's Sushant Lok-1 and South City-1 on Thursday. The targeted properties included illegal paying guest (PG) accommodations, unauthorized guest houses, and commercial establishments, with a specific focus on rooms constructed in stilt parking areas.
The action in Sushant Lok included sealing a PG operating from a residential unit and demolishing partitions in stilt parking areas used for rentals or offices. This drive aligns with recent directives from the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court concerning illegal commercial activities within licensed residential colonies.
In South City 1, multiple residential buildings functioning as commercial hubs were sealed. These included a hotel, several guest houses, and PG accommodations. The operation also involved securing four-storey homes that were being used as commercial lodgings, with notices affixed warning against tampering with the seals.
Local residents' welfare associations have welcomed the initiative, citing strain on infrastructure due to high-density PGs. DTCP officials stated that this drive will continue in other licensed colonies, warning that non-compliance could lead to utility disconnections and cancellation of occupation certificates.
