Two BYOB (Bring your own booze) lounge clubs in Gurgaon faced police action on the night of April 18 for playing loud DJ music past permitted hours without necessary permissions. The action stemmed from a night patrol led by ACP Yashwant Yadav, responding to resident complaints about disturbances.
Officers visited multiple locations and discovered violations at 'Don Jon BYOB & Lounge Club' in Sector 61 and 'Where Else BYOB & Lounge Club' in Sector 58. At Don Jon, DJ music was reportedly playing after 10 pm, and the operator, Rajat Gupta, could not provide valid permission. Similarly, the operator of Where Else, Anuj Mehndiratta, failed to produce a license for the loud music.
Police confiscated three music systems and four speakers from both venues. Cases have been filed against the operators under the Environment Protection Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The matter will be forwarded to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office for further action, with authorities warning all establishments to adhere to noise pollution regulations.
