Back-to-Back Burglaries Expose Security Gaps in Gurgaon

Two burglaries in Gurgaon this week have underscored the importance of home security, particularly when residents are away. The first incident came to light on the morning of August 25, when an advocate returned to his Pataudi residence after an extended absence to find it ransacked. Valuables, including cash, gold bracelets, a mangalsutra, a gold locket, and silver items, were stolen from an almirah locker.

Investigators found an unlocked inner gate and a broken latch, along with an iron rod at the scene. A case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS. In a separate incident on August 24, thieves targeted a home in Ardee City, Sector 52, while the occupants were at work. They broke the main gate and absconded with Rs 60,000 in cash, 200 US dollars, and a significant collection of gold and silver jewelry, along with watches. Police have secured the scene and are examining fingerprints and CCTV footage.
