The victim, Jignesh Mavadiya, was allegedly murdered by his wife, Prithvi alias Bhumiben, her alleged lover Nilesh Kachhatiya, and an associate, Balveer Verma.
For nearly two years, Prithvi told relatives that her husband had moved to Australia for work, fabricating stories about his employer prohibiting phone calls. This elaborate deception began to unravel when a cousin sought Jignesh's contact details for a trip. Prithvi's inability to provide the information raised suspicions, prompting Jignesh's brother to file a police complaint on July 26 this year.
The subsequent police investigation culminated in the exhumation of skeletal remains on Thursday, July 30, from beneath a factory premises. Forensic experts are now working to confirm the identity of the deceased. The accused have been arrested under sections related to murder and destruction of evidence, with further investigations underway to reconstruct the complete sequence of events.
