A shocking murder plot has been uncovered in Gujarat's Prantij, where a woman has been arrested and her partner is currently absconding. The duo allegedly murdered Bharat Chaudhary, the branch manager of IIFL Finance's Mansa branch, to evade a combined loan of Rs 6 lakh and recover pledged gold. Chaudhary's body was found two days ago near Limla village, two days after he was reported missing.
The Prantij police swiftly cracked the case using technical evidence and call detail records, identifying Bhavna alias Bhavu Thakor and Yogesh Thakor as suspects. Bhavna has since been apprehended, while Yogesh remains at large, with police teams actively pursuing him.
Investigations revealed that Bhavna had borrowed Rs 1.50 lakh and Yogesh Rs 4.50 lakh from IIFL Finance. They reportedly planned Chaudhary's murder to escape loan installments and retrieve their pledged gold jewellery. Bhavna allegedly lured Chaudhary to Prantij under the pretense of repayment, after which Yogesh allegedly attacked and killed him inside a car.
The couple then attempted to dispose of the body and car near Limla village. However, the vehicle became stuck in a ditch while they were trying to reverse it. Fearing discovery, they abandoned the car and body before fleeing the scene.
