A man has entered a guilty plea in connection with a fatal crash that took place on the Fourth of July last year. Keith Zartman pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide in May. This plea agreement included the dismissal of one count of failure to stop after an accident.
The deadly collision occurred just before 7 a.m. on July 4th in the 4200 block of Marshall Road. The victim, 37-year-old Tadeo Gatewood, died at the scene after his truck ran off the road and struck a tree. Video evidence indicated a second truck was involved, and authorities identified Zartman as the driver of that vehicle.
Zartman initially pleaded not guilty in November 2025 but changed his plea weeks before his jury trial was set to begin. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 22nd.
