Grandson Kills Grandmother in Brutal Attack

An elderly woman, Vimla Devi, aged 80, tragically lost her life after her 25-year-old grandson, Pulkit, allegedly slit her throat at their family home in Jaipur's Bhatta Basti area on Tuesday afternoon. Neighbors first alerted Pulkit's father after witnessing the grandson on the porch with bloodstained hands and clothes.

Upon arriving home, the father discovered his mother deceased with a severe neck wound. Pulkit, who had returned from a coaching center and was alone with his grandmother, was initially detained and later arrested. He reportedly claimed his grandmother used to scold and beat him, though investigators are still working to establish the precise motive.

Crime scene analysis indicated a struggle, with Vimla Devi sustaining defensive wounds on her hands and fingers. Investigators suspect Pulkit attacked his grandmother with a kitchen knife while she was napping. Vimla Devi's body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Pulkit had a history of mental health treatment and struggled with studies.
