A 68-year-old grandmother is pursuing legal action against Jeremy Clarkson following a fall in the car park of his Diddly Squat Farm. The incident, which happened in November of last year, resulted in a severe hand injury requiring surgery and broken ribs. Elizabeth Purley stated the farm's car park, described as a 'total disaster,' was a muddy hazard with loose metal sheets that moved unpredictably.
Ms. Purley's fall occurred while she was carrying eggs back to her car. She caught her foot on an unsecured metal sheet, causing her to fall and smash the eggs. Her hand was sliced open by the sharp metal cover, leading to an emergency hospital visit. Doctors later removed metal fragments from her hand and reconstructed the wound with ten stitches.
Despite the incident, Ms. Purley noted that the car park conditions remained unchanged when she revisited. Planning permission for a permanent hard surface has been approved, but work is pending the submission of a drainage scheme. Ms. Purley expressed concern that the temporary coverings continue to pose an ongoing hazard to visitors.
