Grandmother Found Dead in Basement Safe

Dawn White, a 53-year-old grandmother, was found dead inside a four-foot safe in the basement of her Baltimore home on April 19, 2025. She had been reported missing on April 18, having last been seen on Ring doorbell footage on April 14. The medical examiner's office concluded that White died from PCP intoxication and dehydration, classifying her death as undetermined and not a homicide.

Her family remains distraught and is seeking answers, expressing disbelief that White would have placed herself inside the safe. The Baltimore Police Department has stated that while White was involved in two domestic violence incidents reported in March and an assault was reported at her home on April 9, 2025, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified in connection with her death.

White was a cherished mother of two daughters and a grandmother to four grandchildren. A funeral service was held on May 3, 2025, followed by a visitation. Her family continues to mourn her loss and hopes for justice, emphasizing their desire to understand how she died in such a perplexing situation.
