Officials seized the gold under the Customs Act, 1962, as no one came forward to claim ownership. The method of concealment suggested a smuggling attempt, and further investigation is underway to identify those responsible and explore potential links to wider networks operating on Gulf routes.
This latest recovery is part of a series of gold smuggling incidents detected at Ahmedabad airport in recent months. Authorities have noted a steady increase in such attempts.
