- Photographs taken during assault used for blackmail.

A 40-year-old self-styled godman from Maharashtra's Palghar district faces charges for allegedly raping a 35-year-old woman. The accused reportedly posed as an incarnation of Lord Shiva, claiming the victim was his 'Parvati'. The incident allegedly occurred in a Pune lodge where the woman was drugged before the assault.
During the attack, the accused allegedly took photographs of the victim without her consent. He later used these images to blackmail her, demanding she meet him at a Vasai hotel for further sexual advances. The woman found the courage to report the crime after a similar case involving another 'godman' recently made headlines.
Authorities registered a Zero FIR due to the crime's primary location in Pune, subsequently transferring the case to the Hadapsar police station. The complainant indicated that the accused may have used a similar tactic to exploit other women. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect.
