Gloucester Man Jailed 17 Years for Child Rape

A man identified as Daryl Shakespeare, aged 48 and residing in Tuffley, Gloucester, has received a significant prison sentence of 17 years. This comes after his conviction for multiple serious offenses against a girl under 13. The jury found him guilty on April 20th of three counts of rape of a girl under 13, sexual activity with a child under 13, indecent assault, inciting sexual activity, and a communication offense.
However, Shakespeare was acquitted of one count of rape of a child and one count of assault of a child by penetration. During the sentencing at Gloucester Crown Court, he was also issued a 20-year sexual harm prevention order. As a consequence of his convictions, he will be required to remain on the sex offenders register for the remainder of his life.
