Rapper Ghetts Faces Jail for Fatal Hit-and-Run

Acclaimed rapper Ghetts, whose birth name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, faces potential years in prison after admitting to causing the death of 20-year-old Yubin Tamang. The fatal incident occurred on October 18, 2025, when Mr. Tamang was hit by Clarke-Samuel's BMW on Redbridge Lane in Ilford, north-east London. Mr. Tamang succumbed to his injuries two days later in hospital.
Following the collision, Clarke-Samuel, 41, allegedly drove dangerously. Police discovered his black BMW significantly damaged at his home the following morning. He has pleaded guilty to causing Mr. Tamang's death by dangerous driving and admitted to other dangerous driving incidents across London on the same date.
Clarke-Samuel, who is currently in custody, has been disqualified from driving. His sentencing is scheduled by Judge Mark Lucraft KC at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. The judge has previously indicated that a prison sentence is expected. Mr. Tamang was an only child, sent to the UK for his education by his parents.
