In Ghaziabad, a disturbing case has emerged with the arrest of a couple, Ajay and Akriti Gupta, accused of murdering their landlady, Deepshikha Sharma. The incident unfolded in the Raj Nagar Extension area after Sharma, a teacher, approached the tenants to discuss overdue rent spanning four months. An altercation reportedly ensued within the couple's rented flat.
Suspicion arose when Sharma failed to return home. Her maid, alerted by her prolonged absence, investigated and noted the tenants' evasive responses. CCTV footage confirmed Sharma entering the Guptas' apartment but not leaving. The situation escalated when the couple was seen attempting to depart with a large suitcase, only to be intercepted by the maid before police intervention.
Upon searching the apartment, police discovered Deepshikha Sharma's body concealed within the suitcase. Initial investigations suggest she was struck with a pressure cooker and subsequently strangled. The family has filed a complaint, and authorities are pursuing charges under relevant sections of the law.
