Authorities in Ghaziabad have detained a person in connection with the discovery of animal remains in the Hindon River. The investigation was prompted after Ghaziabad Mayor Sunita Dayal reported observing two children allegedly attempting to dispose of 'cow meat' into the river.
During her account, Mayor Dayal stated she intercepted the children with a gunny bag, which upon inspection, contained what she described as cow meat. She noted that local residents also voiced concerns about persistent issues of garbage and animal waste being dumped into the river, leading to its impurity.
The detained individual has been identified as Zubair, who is reportedly associated with a local madrasa and is alleged to have instructed the boys to dispose of the meat. Police have seized the animal remains and submitted samples for forensic examination to determine their nature and origin. This incident highlights ongoing environmental concerns regarding the pollution of the Hindon River.
