Four associates of gangster Deepak Nandal were killed in a late-night shootout with Gurugram Police on Thursday while allegedly trying to extort money from a businessman. The gunfight erupted in Sushant Lok, where businessman Vishal Beri resides. Investigators reported that over 60 rounds were fired during the intense exchange.
The five gang members allegedly held Beri hostage before police arrived, responding to information about armed men in a Scorpio SUV. When police arrived and asked them to surrender, the suspects reportedly opened fire. Four of the five were killed in the ensuing encounter, with one injured. Beri was rescued safely.
The deceased have been identified as Aryan, Nitin, Ankit, and Sandeep. The injured accused, Shivam, is a resident of Nuh district. Police recovered five modern pistols, ammunition, and the SUV. Three injured policemen were admitted to Medanta Hospital for treatment. Nandal, who is wanted in multiple cases, is believed to operate from abroad and recruit youths via social media.
